Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat engaged in significant bilateral discussions with his counterparts from Brazil, Spain, and Saudi Arabia during his recent visit to Brazil. These meetings, held alongside the G20 Tourism Ministerial Conference, aimed to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector and foster stronger people-to-people connections between the nations. The G20 Tourism Ministerial Conference, chaired by Brazil, provided an ideal platform for these pivotal conversations.
One of the key meetings took place with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ahmed bin Aqeel al-Khateeb, where both ministers explored ways to strengthen tourism ties between India and Saudi Arabia. A particular focus was placed on youth training and development initiatives, which both countries see as crucial to driving the future of tourism and creating more opportunities for young people in the sector.
The discussions with Brazilian Tourism Minister Celso Sabino on September 20 further underscored the importance of collaboration between India and Brazil in tourism. Minister Shekhawat expressed optimism about the outcomes of these talks and emphasized India’s commitment to building a stronger tourism network across the G20 nations.
In addition to his bilateral engagements, Shekhawat participated in several high-level events during the G20 conference, where he presented India’s vision for sustainable tourism growth, highlighting innovative policies and initiatives designed to promote cultural exchange, eco-tourism, and infrastructure development. This multifaceted approach reflects India’s dedication to strengthening its role in the global tourism landscape.
